FAIRFIELD, CT - Junior MarissaGagliardi (North Branford, CT) has been named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 23-March 1.

Gagliardi helped the Pioneers to head-to-head wins over third-ranked Nebraska and top-ranked Vanderbilt in the Alabama A&M Holiday Classic. She didn't shoot the highest individual game in either match, but she bowled in the high-pressure anchor position. She threw two strikes in the tenth to grab the win over number one ranked Vandy 961-956.

She gutted out nine matches over two days, bowling with severe knee pain.

"After the Nebraska win in match nine, I took her out so she could ice," said head coach Becky Kregling. "Pure will and determination drives her to make quality shots in the most pressured position while in pain."
