PERRY HALL, MD - The Sacred Heart women's bowling team went 2-2 during the final day of matches at the Morgan State Invitational on Sunday, finishing in 5-4 overall and 12th place in the 31-team field.

The Pioneers finished with a total pinfall of 8298, well behind champion Nebraska's 9247. Central Missouri finished second with 9126, while New Jersey City was third at 8996.

In the 4-game baker matches on Sunday, SHU lost to Elmhurst College in the opener 684-741 and then to Vanderbilt 720-775. The Pioneers finished with two wins against Howard University (745-668) and North Carolina A&T (753-661).

The leading scorer for Sacred Heart was Sarah Pelletier who finished twelfth in average out of the 181-bowler field with 206.6 on Saturday. Next was senior Amanda Lulu with 197.8 which placed her 28th overall.

The SHU bowlers record for the season now stands at an impressive 66-15 but still need to finish strong to guarantee a spot in the post-season NCAA Championships.

The Pioneers depart for the next tournament in Bessemer, AL on February 29th.
