SHU Has a Tough Opening Weekend; Finishes 8th in NEC Match

Reading, Penn.—The defending Northeast Conference Champion Sacred Heart Women's Bowling Team had a shaky start to the 2012-13 season in their first match over the weekend going 3-6 on the weekend to finish eighth out of the ten-team field.

On lane conditions that were better for striking, Jackie Carbonetto's 219 average was third amongst competitors and also led the team. Nicole Trudell was 18th individually, averaging 204 for the weekend.

On Sunday, it was a rematch of last year's NEC title match, as the Pioneers faced off with the perennial powerhouse Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. Once again Sacred Heart came out on top, defeating the Knights 1084-1028.

Sacred Heart looks to rebound this weekend as they head to Millsboro Lanes in Delaware for the UMES Hawk Classic.
