FAIRFIELD, Conn. (February 8, 2010) - For the fourth time this season, Sacred Heart freshman Kiley Evans (Cazenovia, NY) was named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week announced by the league on Monday. Evans shares co-rookie honors this week with Vega Gimeno-Martinez from Robert Morris.

Evans scored no fewer than 15 points in each of Sacred Heart's NEC Rivalry Week wins. The rookie guard averaged 16.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in helping the Pioneers pick up a pair of double-digit victories over Nutmeg State rival Quinnipiac. She shot 52 percent (13-for-25) over the two-game sample. Evans put up 18 points and eight rebounds in a 51-34 home triumph over the Bobcats. In a 15-point road win two days later, the 5-foot-9 freshman accounted for 15 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Evans (11.4 ppg), who has won or shared rookie honors on four occasions this season, ranks third amongst NEC freshmen in scoring.

Evans and the Pioneers are home for a pair of conference tilts this week, hosting the Long Island Blackbirds on Thursday and the St. Francis (NY) Terriers on Saturday.
