Sacred Heart vs. Mount St. Mary's Post Game Notes

The Pioneers have won 11-straight over the Mount and improve their series lead to 12-3. SHU has won five-straight in Knott Arena.

SHU won for the second time this season when trailing at the half (28-27). The Pioneers are 2-5 this season when down at the break.

Sacred Heart held a 39-37 edge on the boards, just the fourth time in 13 games they have won the battle on the boards. The are 3-1 when outrebounding their opponent.

Wednesday's game marked just the second time this season the Sacred Heart bench outscored their opponent's reserves. SHU held a 22-5 scoring edge. The Pioneer bench outscored Saint Peter's, 10-2, earlier this season.

Sophomore Liz Gruber led the charge off the bench, hitting four-of-six, including a pair of three's to finish with a season-high 10 points.

Senior Amanda Pape scored a game-high 26 points, her fifth 20-point plus effort of the year. She hit nine-of-10 from the line in the win.

Pape has led the Pioneers in scoring in each of the last seven games. SHU record in those games, 5-2.

Sophomore center Kaitlin Sowinski matched her career-high for blocks at the Mount, turning away five shots. She previously had five blocks against Saint Francis (PA) (12/9/06) and Fairleigh Dickinson (2/20/06).

Senior Jasmine Walker pulled down 10 rebounds in the win, her sixth game this season with double digit rebounds.
