FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Senior guard Hannah Kimmel was named to the All-MET Third Team on Tuesday by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.
This is Kimmel's second postseason honor of the 2016-17 season. She was also named First Team All-Conference selection by the Northeast Conference after leading SHU to its 18th consecutive NEC Tournament. The senior guard led the Pioneers in scoring at 15.3 points per game, and landing her 5th in the Northeast Conference. Kimmel was also 5th in the conference in rebounds, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game, and second in defensive rebounds averaging 6.1.
She had her highest scoring game of the season in the NEC quarterfinals where she put up 32 points, against St. Francis Brooklyn on Mar. 5th. Kimmel scored 30 points on one other occasion, where she put up 30 points against Binghamton on November 23rd.
