Oct. 16, 2008
Fairfield, CT - The Sacred Heart University cheerleading team took part in the American Liver Foundation's annual life walk. This is the second consecutive year the cheerleading squad has participated in the ALF walk and shown their support for liver wellness. The event was held September 28th along a five mile course in South Boston.
The purpose of the event was to raise liver disease awareness and reach out to people with the disease. The proceeds from the event go towards critically needed liver disease research and education. Last year over 1,000 participants raised over $140,000 in support of the American Liver Foundation. The program was also designed to educate the public about the importance of the liver and to support its wellness.
