Tryouts for Sacred Heart Cheerleading

The Sacred Heart University cheerleading team will hold primary and alternate tryout sessions for the upcoming 2012-13 season on Saturday, May 19 and on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the William H. Pitt Center. Interested candidates and returning team members will need to attend the tryout on May 19, but if there is a conflict on that date, June 2 is being offered as an alternate. Each returning team member and candidate must attend ONE of the mandatory tryout sessions. Attendance at both tryouts is not required.

Tryout Day 1 (Primary Tryout)
Saturday May 19th, 2012 in the Pitt Center
Check-in is at 10:00 am
Tryouts start promptly at 10:30 am
Tryouts end at 5:00 pm

 

Tryout Day 2 (Alternate Tryout)
Saturday June 2nd, 2012 in the Pitt Center
Check-in is at 10:00 am
Tryouts start promptly at 10:30 am
Tryouts end at 2:00 pm

 Candidates must complete all of the medical forms listed above before they will be allowed to tryout.  These medical forms will be reviewed by the Sacred Heart Athletic Training staff prior to granting a candidate medical clearance to tryout. 

 Proof of Insurance and a current physical (which means it was completed in the past calendar year) are REQUIRED to tryout.  Failure to bring BOTH pieces of information will make the candidate ineligible to tryout until both are completed and submitted to Sacred Heart for review.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS GRANTED FOR THESE TWO PIECES OF DOCUMENATION.

Candidates should bring water and a light lunch/snack.

It is highly suggested they wear red shorts, a white tank top/ T-shirt and a white bow.  Please do not wear current high school or all-star gym apparel as you are trying to make an impression on the judges.  Please look professional as your hair and make-up should be done.

Successful candidates who have made the team will be announced at the end of tryouts.  A DVD of Sacred Heart cheers and band dances will be passed out to all those named to the team and will need to be learned prior to the first team practice in the fall.  Please bring $1.00 to cover the cost of the DVD.
