FAIRFIELD, Conn. (September 29, 2008) - Senior John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY) of the cross country team has been named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 28th.

Kenworthy picked-up his first collegiate win in finishing first at last weekend's 32nd Annual Fairfield University Victor F. Leeber Invitational where he led his team to a third place team finish. The senior runner took home top-honors on a very soggy course and turned in a school record time in the process. Kenworthy finished the 8K course one second in front of second place finisher Chris Croff of Southern Connecticut State University, clocking in with a record time of 25:19. Kenworthy, an All-NEC runner last fall, finished second at last year's Fairfield University Invite.
