FAIRFIELD, Conn. (September 21, 2009) - Junior Andrew Houghtalen (West Charlton, NY) of the men's cross country team has been named the Sacred Heart / Enterprise Rent-A-Car Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of September 14th through 20th.

For the second-consecutive week, Houghtalen led the Pioneer men's cross country team to a victory as SHU won the 2009 Quinnipiac Invitational. Houghtalen was the Pioneers top runner for the second-consecutive week, crossing the finishing line in fourth place. It was Houghtalen's second career top-five finish clocking in at 26:07.1 to lead five Pioneer runners in the top-20 overall. The SHU men finished atop the 11-team field with 58 total points for their second win in as many weeks, a program first.

Houghtalen and the rest of the Pioneers will compete at the Fairfield University Victor F. Leeber Invitational this Saturday.
