2005 IC4A Championship Results
BRONX, NY (November 21) - The Sacred Heart women's cross country team took home third place at the 2005 ECAC Championship Saturday afternoon, earning their first ever trip to the awards podium and placing three runners on the All-East Teams. The Pioneers were third in a 22 team field at the 21st running of the race at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. The men finished 17th in the 22 field in the 97th IC4A Championship also at Van Cortlandt.
Freshman Kathleen Henry and sisters Katie and Anne Duffy all earned All-East honors for finishing in the top-25 at the race. Henry ran the course in 19:03.3 to move into third place on the SHU all-time Van Cortlandt Park list behind former standout Katie Wrinkle and teammate Katie Duffy. Henry's time was good for 16th in the race.
Katie Duffy finished the 5K race in 22nd place wit a time of 19:27.5, just ahead of her sister Anne in 24th. Duffy's time was 19:30.7 to finish just ahead of the cut off for All-East honors.
The trio led the Pioneers to their best-ever finish at the race. SHU finished sixth the past 3 years (02, 03 and 04) and 10th in 2000 and 2001.
Rounding out the Sacred Heart field was senior Jenna Pisani in 31st (19:37.3), senior Erin Kulasewski in 54th (20:04.7), grad student Kaitlin Clark in 83rd (20:41.1) and freshman Brooke Palmer in 114th (21:42.0).

For the men, senior Tyler Arnett finished 37th with a time of 26:57.2. Following Arnett was freshman Luis German in 78th (27:38.9), freshman David Jones in 121st (28:35.3), junior Robert McDermott in 126th (28:44.1), sophomore Stephen Zito in 133rd (28:59.3), senior Robert Gill in 137th (29:04.2) and freshman Joseph Palma in 162nd (30:17.4).
