2006 ECAC / IC4A Results

BRONX, N.Y. - The Sacred Heart cross country teams wrapped up the 2006 season Saturday afternoon running at the ECAC and IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. The Pioneer women came in eighth in 19th team field in the 22nd ECAC University Race. The men were 16th among 19 teams in the 98th running of the IC4A University Race.

Sophomore Kathleen Henry rounded out a stellar fall with a sixth-place finish at the race, toping her 16th place finish last year and earning her All-East honors for the second-straight year. Henry ran the 5K course in a time of 18:45.4.

Senior Anne Duffy ran the race in 16th place, finishing in a time of 19:14.1. She took home All-East honors as well, also for the second-straight year.

The rest of the Pioneer field featured senior Katie Duffy in 35th (19:45.2), freshman Sarah Tencza in 87th (20:50.6), freshman Theresa Campbell in 95th (21:10.0), senior Kathryn O'Connor in 102nd (21:14.9) and senior Julia Mahoney in 113th (21:26.2).

The men were led by sophomores John Kenworthy in 71st (28:00.0) and David Jones in 73rd (28:04.2) on the five-mile run. Freshman Brendan Rickert was 83rd (28:13.9), junior Stephen Zito was 95th (28:24.8), sophomore Joseph Palma was 123rd (29:07.0), senior Robert McDermott was 142nd (29:56.1), freshman Michael Bellio was 145th (30:06.7), junior Robert Boerjes was 154th (30:37.7) and freshman Matthew Miller was 156th (30:55.8).
