Sherwood Island Mini Meet Results

The Sacred Heart men and women's cross country teams sent limited rosters to this past weekend's second annual Sherwood Island Mini-Meet with Fairfield University and Southern Connecticut State University. The women ran five runners on the 4k course and the men has seven runners compete on in their 6k race.

The men were led by sophomore David Jones (Charlton, NY) who ran fifth overall in a time of 21:21. He was followed by junior Stephan Zito (Guilford, CT) in seventh (21:48) and sophomore John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY) in ninth (21:56). Rounding out the top-seven was sophomore Joseph Palma (Glastone, NJ) in 11th (22:14), junior Robert Boerjes (Patchogue, NY) in 16th (22:51), freshman Joseph Sacramone (Astoria, NY) in 20th (25:15) and sophomore Jared Scata (Lebanon, CT) in 21st (25:35).

For the women, sophomore Brooke Fiorillo (Monroe, CT) was the Pioneer's top finisher running in eighth place overall with a time of 17:25. Following her was grad student Katelyn Botsford (Cresskill, NJ) in 15th (18:29), freshman Jacqueline Wilkins (Hudson, MA) in 16th (18:38), senior Erin Spilka (Hamden, CT) in 18th (18:56) and junior Jessica Murphy (Yonkers, NY) in 19th (19:39).
 

 

Both Pioneer teams return to action at the East Stroudsburg Pete Nevins Invitational this Saturday, October 21st.
