2006 New England Championship Men's Results
BOSTON, Mass. (October 7, 2006) - Sophomore Kathleen Henry (Basking Ridge, NJ) finished 20th at the 2006 New England Championships Saturday afternoon in Boston, Massachusetts, becoming just the second Sacred Heart University athlete in school history to garner All-New England honors.
Henry ran the Franlin Park course in 18:14 to finish 20th overall among 314 runners. Henry matches the All-New England feat set by former standout runner Katie Wrinkle during the 2003 season. Wrinkle finished 12th at that race running a time of 18:16. Henry's time stands as a program benchmark for the Franklin Park course and was also just one second off her personal best time set at Connecticut College earlier this season (18:13).
Senior Anne Duffy (Monroe, CT) was the next Pioneer runner to clock in, running in 56th place with a time of 18:50. Twin sister Katie Duffy (Monore, CT) was 88th with a time of 19:08.
Rounding out the SHU top seven was freshman Sarah Tencza (Succasunna, NJ) in 150th (19:39), senior Julia Mahoney (Topsfield, MA) in 236th (20:34), freshman Theresa Campbell (Colonia, NJ) in 245th (20:42) and senior Kathryn O'Connor (Bellmore, NY) in 249th (20:47).
