Pioneers Compete At Albany Invite

Albany, NY.- Senior Trevor Guerrera had another strong showing to lead the Pioneers. He finished in sixth place with a time of 25:34.9, which is six seconds faster than his last time on the course and not far off his career personal best.


Next was Gilmar Barrios in 12th, in a time of 25:56.3. Andrew Handfield was 18th in 26:15.9, 19 seconds faster than his last showing on the course.


Rookie Moetiz Shilleh continues to improve on the 8k distance, crossing the line in 25th for a new personal best time of 26:30.3. Shilleh ranks as the eighth fastest freshman in program history on the course, and the 30th fastest freshman in SHU history. 


Timothy Loehner rounded out the top 5, finishing in 32nd (26:46.1). 


Notably, the next men to cross the line were Joshua Hadity (34th, 26:56.2) and Dane Krchnavy (40th, 27:07.3). Krchnavy bested his 2015 performance on the course by more than two minutes. 


The Pioneers are back in action Friday Oct. 20. at the 15th Annual Central Conn. State Univ. Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park, New Britain, CT at 3 pm.
