FAIRFIELD, CT - Sherwood Fendryk, captain of the 2006-07 wrestling team, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident at the end of July and a benefit has been planned to help defray the medical costs for the former Pioneer.

After recovering from a collapsed lung, broken ribs and removal of his spleen, the doctors were forced to amputate the lower part of one leg. Mike Fusili, former Binghamton coach, is a family friend and has planned a benefit to help Fendryk recover financially. Fusili has planned a 50-mile walk and is soliciting sponsors for his efforts.
