SHU Wrestlers Defeat Millersville, Fall to Army

WEST POINT, NY (February 13, 2010) – The Sacred Heart University wrestling team defeated Millersville University at Army yesterday and fell to the hosts in tri-meet action.  Against Millersville, the Pioneers won 30-15, then fell to the Black Knights 46-3.

 

Junior Paul Schweighardt (Tinton Falls, NJ) was the only SHU wrestler to earn wins against both squads.  He took down Millersville’s heavyweight Chase Godfrey with a 3-2 overtime decision, followed by a 6-4 win over Army’s Christian Botero.

 

Red-shirt junior Pat Feeley (Johnston, RI) opened the match against Millersville with a pin 32 seconds in to win the 125 lb. weight class.  Sophomore Jonathon Rizzitello (Paramus, NJ) won at 165, 8-6, and red-shirt senior Michael Hartman (Cranston, RI) won at 184, 5-3.

 

Red-shirt junior Ricky Eichenlaub (Woodcliffe Lake, NJ) earned a win by pin in the 197 lb. weight class 1:30 into the match.

 

The Pioneers conclude the regular season with a home meet against Rider on Saturday February 20 at 7:00 pm.
