Sacred Heart University wrestling coach John Clark announced the addition of Stephen Jarrell as the Pioneers assistant coach. Jarrell will serve as the program's recruiting coordinator, assist with match-day preparations, and practice planning, as well as the day-to-day operations of the team.

"I look forward to working with Stephen and I'm very glad he has accepted the position as assistant coach here at Sacred Heart University," said Clark. "We share a common vision and we're both very excited to start helping the student-athletes accomplish their goals in the classroom and on the mats!"

A graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Jarrell earned All-America status after placing second at the NCAA Division III National Championship. His efforts aided his squad to a fourth place finish at the National Championships as he led the nation in technical falls during the campaign.

SHU Wrestling competes in the EIVA. The Pioneers have ranked among the nation's elite in academic success over the past several seasons, helping SHU student-athletes post 18 consecutive semesters with a department GPA of 3.0 or higher.
