FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart wrestling team has been named one of the top 30 All-Academic Teams by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
The Pioneers' team grade point average of 3.384 is the second-highest in the country behind only Harvard.
"I am so proud of the academic achievement of our student-athletes," said head coach Andy Lausier. "They have exercised great dedication and discipline to earn this recognition. Our Faculty Mentors, David Cameron and Pat Morris, along with Tammy Petrucelli and Randy Brochu from Academic Support and Student Services, provide amazing guidance to promote the academic success of our wrestlers."
Sacred Heart is one of 12 EIWA programs among the top-30. Brown, Penn, and American join the Pioneers and Harvard in the top-10.
