Vassar Takes Down Sacred Heart in Three

FAIRFIELD, CT (March 30, 2005) - The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team lost in three games Wednesday night, falling to Vassar College in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action. The Brewers posted wins of 30-22, 30-18 and 30-10. The Pioneers fall to 2-12 and 0-7 in the league with the loss.

Vassar, now 4-13 and 2-7 in conference, got 11 kills from Steve Gilhool. He also came up with three total blocks on the night. Matt Bninski record 10 kills and a .320 (10-2-25) hitting percnetage. Bninski was the big server on the night, registering five aces. Tom Pawlowski just missed double digit digs with nine.

Rob Purslow had a team-best seven kills for Sacred Heart to go with seven digs. Libero Brent Monden turned in nine digs while Jake Pelletier had six.

The Pioneers are next in action this Saturday, April 2nd when they host Juniata at 2 pm.
