FAIRFIELD, CT (March 23, 2005) - The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team fell at the hands of EVIA Sweeney Division winner Harvard University in three straight games Wednesday night. The Crimson posted wins of 30-17, 30-16 and 30-18 to win their 13th-straight match. The Pioneers fall to 2-10 with the loss.
Harvard was led by Seamus McKiernan who finished with 12 kills and a .400 hitting percentage (12-2-25). Abe Marouf and John Freese each had 10 kills on 17 attempts with just one error (.529) in the win. As a team, the Crimson hit .366 (46-12-93) in the match.
For Sacred Heart, senior Michael Gardner finished with a match-high 14 kills with eight digs. Junior Tommy Karavas finsihed with 15 assists in the loss.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 2 pm match.
