SHU Men's Volleyball Opens Season with 3-0 Loss to Endicott

FAIRFIELD, CT (January 15, 2005) - The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team dropped their 2005 season opener Saturday afternoon, falling in three games to Endicott College. The Gulls won by scores of 30-25, 34-32 and 30-27 to come away with the victory in the William H. Pitt Center.
Leading the way for Endicott was Eddie Marchand who finished with a double double, 16 kills and 11 digs. Eric Hunter also recorded a double double with 13 kills and a match high 36 digs. Jeremy Hamet passes out 86 assists in the win as the Gulls go to 1-0 to start the year.
For the Pioneers senior Michael Gardner (Brookfield, WI) came away with a game-high 15 kills and 11 digs. Robert Purslow (South Huntington, NY) finished with seven kills while Tommy Karavas (Astoria, NY) passed out 25 assists in the loss.
SHU will return to action next Saturday, January 22nd when they host St. Francis (PA) at 2:00 pm.
