C.J. Emanuelson begins his fourth season at the helm of the Sacred Heart men's volleyball program. Since taking over the team, he has continued to build the Pioneers into a solid Division I team, competing in the EIVA.

Emanuelson brought a wealth of coaching experience in Connecticut with him to SHU. He served as the head coach of the Capital City Volleyball Club and for seven seasons as the assistant coach of the varsity boy's volleyball program at Joel Barlow High School. Emanuelson also coached at one of Connecticut's perennial high school girl's volleyball programs in Darien High School. He was an assistant coach with the varsity squad in 1999 and the head freshman coach in 2000 and 2001. He has also served as a heat counselor and coach at the Dearing Volleyball School at Springfield College.

A 1999 graduate of Long Island University - Southampton College, Emanuelson earned his degree in Elementary Education. While at Southampton, he was four year-starter the Colonials at the middle hitter and opposite positions. He graduated from Sacred Heart in May of 2002 with a Master of Arts in Learning degree.
