For the second time in as many season, Sacred Heart University libero Joshua Ayzenberg has been named an AVCA Division I-II All-America Honorable Mention. The senior became the first Pioneer in program history to earn AVCA recognition, earning honorable mention following his junior campaign.
"This honor is a testament to the dedication that Josh has had to being the best that he can be on the court," said Pioneer head coach Greg Walker. "I can't describe the joy I feel in him being recognized by my coaching peers. This is a well-deserved honor."
Ayzenberg earned his second consecutive All-EIVA First Team honors after leading the league with 242 digs. His 2.95 digs per set are good for second in the nation, as he played in all 22 matches for SHU; seeing action in 82 of 84 sets the team played. Ayzenberg has ranked in the top-10 in digs in the NCAA in each of the past three seasons, surpassing 200 digs in each of those campaigns. Ayzenberg collected two kills and 61 assists during his senior campaign.
A native of Long Beach, N.Y., Ayzenberg finished his career appearing in 89 matches and 304 sets.
