SHU Men’s Volleyball Picked Seventh In 2018 EIVA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team has been picked to finish seventh in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, as the 2018 Preseason Coaches' Poll was released on Friday.

SHU went 15-11 on the season in 2017, going 8-6 in conference play to reach the EIVA Tournament for the first time since 2010. The Pioneers took on second-seeded Saint Francis U in the semifinals but fell in four sets. SHU was 12-3 at the Pitt Center last season, including a 3-0 sweep of then-#12 and eventual EIVA champion Penn State.

The Nittany Lions were unanimously picked as the favorite heading into the 2018 season. Princeton is second in the EIVA preseason poll, followed by George Mason and Saint Francis U. Harvard was selected fifth, followed by NJIT, the Pioneers, and Charleston.
