Pioneer Track Teams and Athletes earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

The Sacred Heart men's and women's track and field teams were both honored last week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as All-Academic Teams with four individuals earning spots on the Division I All-Academic Team. For the women, seniors Marsha Locke and Melissa Kostan and sophomore Brittany Dexter and freshman Andrew Houghtalen for the men were awarded All-Academic honors. [+]

Dixon Advances to Quarterfinals in 200m at Olympic Trials

Arman Dixon (Beacon, NY) made Sacred Heart history earlier this week becoming the school's first athlete to compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials by running in the 400 meters. Dixon kept his magical year going Friday afternoon, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 200 meters out in Eugene, Oregon. [+]

Dixon becomes First Pioneer to Compete at U.S. Olympic Trials

Sacred Heart track & field standout Arman Dixon (Beacon, NY) became the first athlete in school history to compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials running in the 400 meter preliminaries earlier this week. Dixon finished fourth in his heat but just missed advancing to the semifinal round at the 10-day event being held in Eugene, Oregon. [+]

SHU's Arman Dixon named an All-American on the Track

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (June 16, 2007) - Sacred Heart senior Arman Dixon was named a 2008 Division I Outdoor Track & Field All-American in the 400 meters after competiting at the at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Drake University over the weekend. The Division I Outdoor All-America Team was announced Monday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). [+]
