PALISADES PARK, N.J. – Graduate Student Marc Troiani (Valhalla, N.Y.) won both the shot put and the discus Saturday at the FDU Knight Classic at the Palisades Sportsplex.
Troiani won the shot put with a toss of 15.36 meters and the discus with a throw of 46.63 meters. Daniel Pepitone (Oakhurst, N.J.) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 11.79 meters. Joseph Erdos (Milford, Conn.) threw the shot put 11.05 meters to finish fourth in the event, while David Roy IV (Melrose, Mass.) had a throw of 38.90 meters in the discus to place fourth as well. Scott Polis won the pole vault by clearing 3.90 meters. Also in the field, Brian Kalafut (Park Ridge, N.J.) placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 44.32 meters.
On the track, Chanse Wilkie (Stratford, Conn.) finished fourth in the 100 meters in a time of 11.88 seconds. Robert Challenor (Coram, N.Y.) ran a time of 4:28.28 in the 1500 meters to finish fifth. In the 400 meters, Ralph Gangi (Trumbull, Conn.) placed fifth (52.89) and Warner Cooley III (Central Islip, N.Y.) finished seventh (54.34). Alexander Raffone (North Branford, Conn.) was sixth in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:12.05, and Adam King (Columbia, Conn.) was seventh in the 200m (25.15).
