Sacred Heart graduate Jeff Bowers was named the new men's tennis coach by athletic director C. Donald Cook announced Monday afternoon. Bowers, a 2004 graduate, takes over the men's program for Mike Guastelle, who remains the head women's coach and becomes the Director of Tennis.

Bowers, a two-time All-Northeast Conference player under Guastelle, takes over a program that advanced to the semifinals of the NEC Championship last season. The Naugatuck, Connecticut native is a tennis teaching pro at Middlebury Racquet Club. He also served as the head coach of the Naugatuck High School girl's varsity last spring.

"It is great to have Jeff joining our coaching staff," stated Guastelle. "He was a standout player and we expect to see the same as he oversees the men's program.
