Fairfield, CT - Sacred Heart men's tennis coach Paul Gagliardi announced three new players who will be joining the Pioneers for the upcoming season. Gagliardi expects these newcomers to have an immediate impact and contribute to the future success of the program. The Pioneers welcome Adam Gart (Bedford, MA/University of Rhode Island), Jacob Miller (West Chesterfield, NH), and Chadd Sullo (Orange, CT/Amity) to the 2008-09 roster.
Gart is a junior transfer from the University of Rhode Island. He led his team to 15-4 record in the 2007-08 season. He played second, third, and fourth singles, posting a 17-6 record. He also competed in doubles and compiled 16 additional wins.
The final two players joining the Pioneers are highly touted high school recruits. Last season, Sullo was named the most valuable player in New Haven county. He has been consistently ranked in the top 30 of New England players in the 18 and under division. His freshman counterpart, Miller, was rated the second best recruit from the state of New Hampshire.
The Pioneers make their home debut this weekend, September 20th at 2pm, as they take on Siena.
