FAIRFIELD, CT (April 1, 2006) - The Sacred Heart men's tennis team got back in the win column Saturday afternoon, posting a 6-1 win over visiting Wagner College in a Northeast Conference dual match-up. The SHU women were up 2-0 in their match with the Seahawks when it was halted due to rain. No make-up date has been announced.

The Pioneers swept through all six singles matches to post the 6-1 victory, starting at the top with Peter George posting a 6-4, 6-4 win over Stevie Johnson at #1. Chris McDonnell won his #2 singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Adam Amster followed by Kevin Guidicipietro producing a 6-2, 6-3 win over Branden Scalvzzo at #3.

Rounding out singles play was Bryan Rodgers, 6-1, 6-2 over Scotty Chamberlain at #4 and Kevin Teague, 6-1, 6-1 at #5 over Will Schuller. SHU won the #6 singles match by default.

The Pioneer men return to the courts on Tuesday afternoon hosting Fairleigh Dickinson while the women take the court on Thursday at Stony Brook.
