Final Stats

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (February 18, 2007) - The Sacred Heart men's tennis team opened the 2007 spring season falling to New Jersey Tech and Saint Peter's 7-0 in their first two matches.

On Saturday, sophomore Bryan Rodgers (Mystic, CT) lost a 6-2, 6-2 decision at #1 singles to Cprime Realista. Sophomore Matthew Cook (Milford, CT) fell 6-2, 6-1 to Conrad Nowogrodski at #2 and junior Mark Maleri (Seymour, CT) fell 6-2, 6-2 at #6 singles.

In doubles, Cook and freshman Kevin Pustelniak (Stockholm, NJ) fell to Nowogrodski and Andrew Maple, 8-4 at #3.

Last weekend, Pustelniak lost a tough 8-6 decision to Mike Lawundy at #6 singles. Pustelniak and Cook fell 8-6 at #2 doubles to Ramy Lawandy and Jonathan Lang.

Both teams will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Holy Cross at the Middlebury Raquet Club at 4 pm.
