Matthew Cook begins his fourth year serving as the assistant coach of men's and women's tennis program. Prior to becoming coach, he played three years at Sacred Heart, where he was named team captain his senior season, and helped lead SHU to its first conference tournament in school history in 2011. In addition to coaching, Cook is in his final year of graduate school at the University of New Haven, where he will be graduating with his Master's in Business Administration with a focus in Sport Management. He also serves as a marketing director for the Adidas Tennis Camp in Fairfield, CT.
In his first year as an assistant in 2012, he helped lead the men's program to an undefeated record in the regular season of the Northeast Conference, as the the Pioneers would go on to capture their second consecutive conference tournament title.
Prior to enrolling at Sacred Heart Cook played at Jonathan Law High School, where during his junior and senior year, he was an All-Conference Selection and was awarded the team MVP.
