Matt Cook
Title: Volunteer Assistant Coach
Bats/Throws: 2nd Year

Matthew Cook begins his second year serving as the volunteer assistant coach.  In his first year he helped lead the Men’s Tennis program to an undefeated record in the regular season of the Northeast Conference.  Coach “Cookie” has played a leading role in developing the current players on the team.  In the fall season we were able to attend multiple tournaments on the same weekend with Coach Cook’s assistance.  This gave everyone from the top to the bottom of the lineup valuable experience on the team.  His on court coaching and scouting of opponents helped the Pioneers to their best season in the history of the program.

In addition to coaching he is in his final year of graduate school at the University of New Haven where he will be graduating with his Masters in Business Administration and a focus in Sport Management. Cook currently serves as a marketing director for adidas Tennis Camp in Fairfield, CT.

Cook grew up in a large family where sports were a part of his everyday life. He has 3 brothers and 1 twin sister who are all one year apart. Cook started play tennis when he was 10 and was taught by his father Gary. Matt played tennis at Jonathan Law High School. During his Junior and Senior year, he was an all Conference Selection and was awarded the team MVP for both years he played. Matt played 3 years at Sacred Heart University and was captain his Senior Year.  He helped his team win their first conference tournament in school history for tennis.
