Men's tennis competes at UConn Invitational

Stoors, Conn. - The Sacred Heart men's tennis team opened their season at the UConn invitational, their first competition under new head Coach Boe-Wiegaard

 

Singles and Doubles Highlights:

 

A Flight Singles: Seiji Hokosawa (SHU #1 singles and #3 doubles player) lost 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 in a hard fought first round against Alper from Quinnipiac.

B Flight Singles: Bryan Einstoss (SHU #3 singles and #2 doubles player) lost 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 in a 2 hour first round match versus Flanagan from Uconn.

D Flight SIngles: Derek Chapman (SHU #7 singles and #1 doubles player) won 6-0, 6-0 in the first round over O'Brien from Merrimack College.

B Flight Doubles: SHU's #3 doubles team (Seiji Hokosawa and Christopher Sauce) reached the quarterfinals of the Doubles B Flight tournament with a win over Holy Cross's #4 doubles team 6-2.

 

The Pioneers are back in action Saturday, October 7 at the Army Mock Duals.
