Sacred Heart's Kirill Kasynov Named NEC Tennis Player of the Year
Sacred Heart junior Kirill Kasyanov (Yonkers, NY) was named the 2010 Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year in a vote conducted by the league's head coaches and announced on Thursday. Kasyanov also garnered All-NEC first team honors in both singles and doubles and is joined by five of his teammates in earning all-conference accolades. For the women, sophomores Delaney Downing (Englewood, CO) and Kate Donnelly (Centerville, MA) earned All-NEC honors.

Men's Tennis Defeats Monmouth - Will Play For NEC Championship Sunday
W. WINDSOR, NJ - The top-seeded Sacred Heart men's tennis team continued its title defense by shutting out No. 4 seed Monmouth, 4-0, at the Northeast Conference Championship at the Mercer County Outdoor Tennis Center on Saturday. The win puts the Pioneers in the championship match on Sunday against Quinnipiac University.

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - Junior Kirill Kasyanov (Yonkers, NY) won his league-best 24th match of the year to help the top-seeded Sacred Heart men's tennis team defeat #8 Robert Morris, 4-0, in the first round of the Northeast Conference Championships Friday.

SHU Men's Tennis Beats Hofstra, 7-0; Women Fall 4-3
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart men's tennis team notched their fifth-straight win on Thursday afternoon, blanking the Hofstra Pride, 7-0. The SHU women came up short against the Pride, falling 4-3. The Pioneer men improve to 13-6-1 on the season while the SHU women fall to 8-11. Both teams are back in action on Friday afternoon heading to Northeast Conference foe Quinnipiac.

Kirill Kasyanov Claims Fifth NEC Weekly Award of the Spring
Sacred Heart junior Kirill Kasyanov (Yonkers, NY) was named the Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday by the league office. Kasyanov has collected five NEC weekly awards this spring and has a league best eight awards to his credit this season.
