The Set-Up... The Pioneers continue their four game road trip with two critical NEC games against archrivals Central Connecticut and Quinnipiac. The Pioneers currently are tied for eigth in the league but are just two behinds out of third place.
Pioneers Shutdown by FDU... Freshman forward Samson Malijani set the tone offensively, collecting his first collegiate hat trick after scoring two goals in the first stanza, as Fairleigh Dickinson beat Sacred Heart, 3-0 in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Last Time vs Central Connecticut... Freshman Yan Klukowski scored in the 56th minute and the Central Connecticut Blue Devils hung on to beat the Pioneers 1-0 in men's soccer action on Senior Day Sunday at Campus Field. The loss snapped the Pioneers four game winning streak, and was the first time they were defeated in their last eight games.
Scouting the Blue Devils... Central Connecticut enters the critical NEC weekend with a 5-4-2 record, following a a loss to LIU last weekend. A balanced Blue Devil attack is led by Alex Harrison who has scored a team leading six goals. Yan Klukowski has scored three goals and added a team leading seven assists. In goal, Paul Armstrong has posted a 1.18 goals against average in 10 games this year.
Last Time vs Quinnipiac...The Pioneers beat the Bobcats 3-0 last year in Fairfield. Goaltender Matthew Jones made five saves to post his fourth-straight shutout. The win helped the Pioneers clinch their first ever NEC tournament berth.
Scouting the Bobcats... Quinnipiac begins play this weekend still looking for its first win, having posted a record of 0-7-4 on the season, including three straight ties. The Bobcats offense has struggled, having been outscored 22-7 on the year. Graciano Brito, Danilo Schaivone and Tyler Sheikh each have two goals on the year. In goal, Paul Fleck has turned in a 1.85 goals against average in playing every game for the Bobacats

Up Next... The Pioneers return home for their final pair of home games of the regular season. Sacred Heart will host Saint Francis (PA) on Friday afternoon before welcoming Robert Morris to Campus Field for Senior Day festivities on Sunday.
