FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team lost a Northeast Conference contest to Fairleigh Dickinson at Campus Field Friday night. The loss ends the Pioneers bid for a NEC playoff berth. SHU finished the season with a 7-8-2 record overall and 4-5-1 in the NEC, while the Knights move on at 9-8-1 and 6-3-1. [+]

SoccerMarcello Castro Named adidas/NEC Rookie of the WeekMarcello Castro (Parana, Brazil) of the men's soccer team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for October 26 - November 1. Castro became the Pioneers' leading goal-scorer this season after notching four points on one goal in each of two games last weekend.
