Matt Jones: From Sacred Heart to Portugal

Former Sacred Heart men's soccer goaltender Matt Jones has continued his playing career in Portugal, suiting up for Santa Clara of the Liga de Honra. During his four years as a Pioneer Jones compiled 320 saves, a 1.10 goals against average, and 30 victories, including 21 shutouts. He was twice named to the All-NEC First Team as the league's top goalkeeper in both 2007 and 2008. Jones was recently featured in MaisFutebol Newpaper in Portugal. [+]

Filimonovic led the Pioneers with eight points in 2009, posting two goals and four assists from his central midfield position. Castro became the Pioneers' leading goal-scorer this season after notching four points on one goal in each of two games last weekend.
