Men's Soccer downed by Hartford, 4-0
Sept. 1, 2004
HARTFORD, CT (September 1) The Sacred Heart University Men's soccer team was defeated by cross-state rival University of Hartford by a final score of 4-0 on Tuesday night. Leading the way for the Hawks was senior forward Alon Lubezky, whose hat trick was more than enough offence to suppress the Pioneers. In the process, Lubezky became the all-time points leader for the Hawks. Offensively, the Pioneers struggled to test Hartford's keeper, Ryan Carr, forcing him to make only three saves on shots by Rui Rainho, Gustavo Netto and Nick Longrea. Goalkeepers Chris Marchese and Matthew Weston both saw time in net for The Pioneers, compiling six saves between the pair. The Pioneers return to action on Sunday afternoon, as the head up to New Britain, CT to take on the Blue Devils from Central Connecticut.
