Paulo DeOliveira joins Joe Barroso's staff, adding the Sacred Heart men's team to his resume while also remaining with the women's squad for his fifth season. DeOliveria, a Bridgeport resident, will continue to coach the goalkeepers this season.
DeOliveira enjoyed a standout playing career at national powerhouse Southern Connecticut State University. Leading the team in goals, the Owls won four regular season championships and had four NCAA tournament appearances in De Oliveira's four years.
A two-time All-State selection while playing for Bridgeport Central High, he went on to be selected to the Northeast-10 All-Conference team while playing for the SCSU.
He has played internationally in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Portugal where he suited up for Division II Team Desportivo De Chaves & the youth development program. De Oliveira has returned to finish his B.S. Degree in Physical Education & Health and also works as a goalkeeper coach for several camps & clinics throughout Connecticut.
DeOliveira was married last summer and he and his wife, Susan, live in Bridgeport.
