FAIRFIELD, CT (May 13, 2004) - Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse seniors Ben Giamichael (Cortland, NY), Jorge Bravo (Long Beach, NY) and Brandon Godbout (Ballston Lake, NY) were selected to play in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association East/West All-Star Game set for Saturday, June 5th.
Giamichael finished the year second on the team in scoring this season. He posted 27 points on 19 goals and eight assists, finishing just one point behind teammate Matthew Robideau (Massena, NY) for the team lead in points. Giamichael finished his Pioneer career with 54 career goals, ranking 13th all-time at Sacred Heart. He also moved into 13th-place on the all-time list for career groundballs with 83 in four years.
After a slow start to the season offensively, Bravo turned it on over his last four games with 10 goals, three assists and 13 points. Bravo earned Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week honors for his efforts in the season closing wins over Marist and Air Force. He scored three times in both wins including the game-winner in overtime in the season finale over the Falcons. On the season Bravo finished fourth on the team in scoring with 20 points on 14 goals and six assists. He also posted a .424 shooting percentage (14g-33 shots).
Godbout, who won the Sacred Heart Ground Ball Team Award this season, played in all 14 games this season with nine starts on defense. Godbout collected 23 groundballs this season leading the Pioneer defensive unit.
The New England East/West All-Star Game is held annually and features the top collegiate players from all over the New England area. This year's game will be held on Saturday, June 5th on Jordan Field at Harvard University.
