FAIRFIELD, CT (April 11, 2006) - Senior men's lacrosse player Matthew Robideau (Massena, NY) was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 3rd through 9th.
Robideau finished the week with three goals and three assists in a pair of Colonial Athletic Association games. The senior captain lead the Pioneers to their biggest win of the year, scoring a pair of goal and setting up the game-winner with 22 seconds left to upsed the #14 ranked Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens on Saturday afternoon. Robideau scored the game's first goal and came-up with a man-up goal during SHU's four-goal fourth quarter comeback run. His biggest play of the day came in the closing minute as he forced a turnover at midfield, scooped up the ground ball, and fed a pass to fellow senior captain Kiel Adams (Rome, NY) in transition who buried it for the go-ahead goal with 22 seconds on the clock.
On the year, Robideau leads the team with 24 points on 16 goals and eight assists. He has five man-up goals on the year, ranking him among the CAA leaders.
Robideau and the Pioneers return to the field this Saturday, April 15th, when they travel to Drexel for a key CAA match-up.
