FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart men's lacrosse midfielder Brian Masi has been selected to play in the USILA/Nike North-South Senior All-Star Game on Friday at Providence.
On Tuesday, Masi added another postseason honor to his First Team All-NEC selection with a spot on the All-ECAC Second Team. The senior set career-highs this season with 24 goals, 15 assists, and 39 points. Masi had a goal in each of his last nine games, including a hat trick against Hobart in the NEC Tournament semifinals. He recorded his 100th career point at Campus Field against Robert Morris on March 18, and finished his career with 83 goals and 126 points.
Friday's game will be held at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium with gametime set for 5:30 p.m. The game will be webstreamed at this link.
UPDATE: Late Friday afternoon, senior defense Ryan O'Donoghue was also added to the roster for the North-South Game. O'Donoghue was named All-ECAC First Team on Tuesday to match his All-NEC First Team selection this season. The first Pioneer to be named NEC Defensive Player of the Year, O'Donoghue led the SHU defense with 45 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 46 groundballs. He graduated third all-time in career caused turnovers in NCAA Division I lacrosse with 125.
