Three Pioneers Named To All-ECAC Men’s Lacrosse Teams

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Ryan O'Donoghue, Brian Masi, and Max Tuttle of the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team were named All-ECAC on Tuesday.

O'Donoghue was named All-ECAC First Team to match his All-NEC First Team selection this season. The first Pioneer to be named NEC Defensive Player of the Year, O'Donoghue led the SHU defense with 46 groundballs and 45 caused turnovers. He graduated third all-time in career caused turnovers in NCAA Division I lacrosse with 125.

Masi and Tuttle earned All-ECAC Second Team honors. Both midfielders were All-NEC First Team picks this season. Tuttle increased his scoring by 17 points from his freshman to sophomore season, scoring 30 goals with 17 assists. He had at least four points in a game five times in 2017, including a pair of seven-point games against Lafayette and Wagner. Masi had a career year as a senior, setting single-season career highs with 24 goals, 15 assists, and 39 points. He tallied his 100th career point on March 18 against Robert Morris, and finished his career with 83 goals and 126 points.
 
Sacred Heart set a new high for wins in a season in the Division I era in 2016, finishing with a record of 9-6 and its third appearance in the NEC Men's Lacrosse Championship.
