Four SHU Lacrosse Seniors Selected To Play In NEILA East/West Game May 31

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart men's lacrosse seniors Matt King (Brewster, N.Y.), Stephen Kontos (Danvers, Mass.), Shane Foley (South Brunswick, N.H.), and Trevor Dauses (Glen Arm, Md.) have been selected to play in the NEILA East/West Game on Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. at Merrimack College.

King, one of two All-NEC First Team selections for the Pioneers in 2013, led Sacred Heart with 29 goals this season and was second on the team with 40 points. He scored in each of the last 13 games of the season. Kontos, an All-NEC Second Team pick, finished the season among the top-10 in the nation in face-off percentage, winning 59.2% of his faceoffs. He also led Sacred Heart with 82 ground balls. Kontos won at least 20 faceoffs in three straight games during the 2013 season. Foley tallied a career-high 19 goals and a team-high five man-up goals last season, scoring in each of the first 11 games of the campaign. Dauses scored seven goals in his senior season.

Sacred Heart reached the Northeast Conference tournament for the first time in 2013, marking the Pioneers' first postseason appearance since 2001.
