Game Notes -- Pioneers Set for Providence Tournament

Milford, CT - The Pioneers men's ice hockey team wil spend the first part of their holiday season in Providence, RI at the Providence College Hockey Holiday Classic. Sacred Heart opens play Wednesday at 4:00 pm against Brown, the first ever meeting between the two schools. On the second day Sacred Heart will play either Providence or Colgate. All games will be played at the Schneider Arena at Providence College.

The Pioneers are 0-4 lifetime against the Raiders, losing to them four times in the last three years. The Pioneers have also dropped both meetings they have had with Providence. The last time the Pioneers and Friars met, on October 11, 2003, Sacred Heart goaltender Jason Smith made a school record 54 saves in a losing effort.
