Fairfield, CT - The Pioneers men's ice hockey team closes out the Thanksgiving weekend with a matinee against RIT Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Sacred Heart is coming off a weekend split against Mercyhurst last weekend in Erie, PA. After winning Friday night to take possession of first place in the conference, the Pioneers dropped the back end of the series to fall one point behind the Lakers in the standings. The Tigers will face AIC in Springfield before making the trip down I-91 to Milford to face the Pioneers.
The Pioneer attack has been led by its top line, anchored by junior assistant captain Pierre-Luc O'Brien. He has a team high five goals, along with eight assists, for 13 points, tying him for fifth place in the conference. Flanking O'Brien on one wing is sophomore Alexandre Parent who has a team high 10 assists. After recording two more assists in two games against Mercyhurst, Parent is now in third place in the conference in assists. On O'Brien's other side is freshman Bear Trapp. After recording a goal and an assist in the series against Mercyhurst, Trapp now has four goals and five assists.
