Fairfield, CT - Former Pioneer goaltender Eddy Ferhi (Charenton, France) signed a professional contract this week with Anglet, a member of France's top 14-team league. Ferhi saw his first action of the season on September 20, a 4-3 overtime win against Morzine-Avoriaz. He also picked up an assist in the contest.
Ferhi graduated from Sacred Heart in May 2003 and holds several Pioneer records, including career goals against average (2.63), single season goals against average (2.27) and career wins (36), a record he shares with Alexis Jutras-Binet '01.
Following his senior season, Ferhi played one game with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League. He won his professional debut and earned a two-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks of the National Hockey League.
In 2003-04, Ferhi played in 19 games with Cincinnati, registering a record of 2-12-3 with a save percentage of .893 and 3.11 goals against. He also appeared in three games with the San Diego Gulls of the East Coast Hockey League, compiling a record of 1-0-2 with a .901 save percentage and 3.10 goals against. Last season, Ferhi recovered from a torn ACL to play in 30 games for San Diego going 13-13-2 with a .910 save percentage and 2.94 goals against.
