FAIRFIELD, CT - Forward Marc-Andre Fournier, who just wrapped up his senior season with the Pioneers, has signed on with Hockey Club Torino, the newest member of the Italian Serie A league. "I am very excited in continuing my career professionally, it is something that I always wanted to accomplish," Said Fournier. "After I graduated I felt that it was something that I had to experience before I made the jump in the working world." Fournier, who served as an assistant captain for the Pioneers, helped Sacred Heart reach its first ever Atlantic Hockey Championship game with his ability to play on both ends of the ice at a high level. During his time at Sacred Heart, Fournier compiled 45 goals (fifth all-time) and 44 assists for a total of 89 points (sixth all-time). He also accrued 178 penalty minutes (fifth all-time) in 135 contests (second all-time). "Playing in Europe has always been a dream of mine. I am the type of person who loves to travel. Not only to go to places, but to learn and get involved in new cultures." Fournier said. "I have never been to Italy so there are, of course, some uncertainties but overall I am very excited." Fournier graduated this past May with a 3.55 GPA with a degree in Psychology. For more information on Hockey Club Torino visit their website here.
