Fairfield, CT - Head Coach Shaun Hannah has announced that the Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team has selected its captains for the 2007-08 season. Senior Alexandre Parent (Boisbriand, QC) will wear the captain's "C" while senior Scott Marchesi (South Portland, ME) and junior Dave Grimson (Mozart, SK) will serve as the assistant captains.

Parent was the Pioneers third leading scorer in 2006-07, totaling 38 points, 15 goals and 23 assists. He has been the third most productive player offensively on each of the last three Pioneer squads. After just three seasons, Parent ranks fifth all-time in school history with 66 assists. He was the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year in 2004-05 and a second team All-AHA selection in 2005-06.

This will be Marchesi's second stint as an assistant captain for the Pioneers, after serving in the same capacity in 2006-07. The senior formed one half of the top defensive pairing for SHU last year, tallying five goals and 13 assists for 18 points on the year. His play earned him first team All-Atlantic Hockey honors.

Grimson was the most productive offensive defensman for the Pioneers last season. His spark both at even strength and on the power play led him to pile up four goals and 21 assists for 25 total points.
