SHU's Marchesi Signs Pro Hockey Contract

Fairfield, CT - Sacred Heart defenseman Scott Marchesi (South Portland, ME) has signed a contract with the Gwinett Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League. Marchesi joins the Gladiators following his senior season with the Pioneers, during which he was an assistant captain and helped lead the team to the Atlantic Hockey Final Five.

In his four seasons with the Pioneers, Marchesi played in 138 games tallying 51 points on 14 goals and 37 assists. In the 2007-08 season, Marchesi played in 38 games tallying 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points while compiling a +5 plus/minus rating and 62 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2-inch defensemen also finished third among Pioneer defensemen in scoring. He was a two time All-Atlantic Hockey selection.

Marchesi has already seen action with Gwinett, playing in the Gladiators three games over the weekend.
