Four Pioneers Garner Conference Honors

FAIRFIELD, CT (March 18) - Four members of the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team picked up conference honors for their play throughout the 2004-05 season. Pierre-Luc O'Brien (Nicolet, QC) garnered all-conference first team honors and Kalen Wright (Candle Lake, SK) was named to the all-conference second team. Freshmen Scott Marchesi (South Portland, ME) and Alexandre Parent (Boisbraind, QC) both were named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie team.

O'Brien was one of only two unanimous selections to the Atlantic Hockey All-Conference First Team as well bieng one of just three underclassmen to be named to either the first team or second team all-conference. O'Brien finished the 04-05 campaign with a team best 35 points on 18 goals and 17 assists including 13 power play goals.

Wright (Candle Lake, SK) was also selected to the Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Second Team for his play this year. He finished with six goals and 11 assists for 17 points on the season.

Parent was one of the most productive rookies in Atlantic Hockey all season, registering nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points, which was good for third on the team in scoring. He also had a team best six-game point scoring streak early in the season. Marchesi finished the year with nine points on three goals and six assists from his position on the blue line.
